Expect the impossible
When we pray, some just say a few words, and get upset when they don’t come true. This is not how we are supposed to pray. We must pray from the bottom of our hearts, and know that our prayers will be answered. If we have any doubt at all, they might not come true, but if we absolutely know that they will come true, than they will.
Guard your thoughts
In our minds, we always seem to see more of the bad than the good. How can one do this? “We hope vaguely but dread precisely,” says Paul ValĂ©ry. As much as I hate to say it, he is right. It is so much easier to remember the bad than the good. Think back, we all have the one person who bugged us, and we can remember many of the things he/she did against us, but we would be hard pressed to remember one thing they did for us, even if they did many things. This is why there is pessimism; some just won’t remember the good. Some only know the bad.
Laughing with life
Laughing is something that we sometimes don’t do enough. They say that laughter is the best medicine, and they are right. Laughter is something that we should do every day and often every day. We have optimists, pessimists, and people in between. In the long run, what is the point of being a pessimist? You are depressed about everything, and you cannot find the joy in life. As far as I can tell, that is no life to live. You should love life, and be excited about all that is to come.
Trust
God has a plan. His plan is always better than our own, no matter how hard it may seem. We may have plans of our own, but whatever they are, unless they come from god, will fail, and cause us to go to his plan. He loves us, he sent his son to die for us, and he proves this to us every day, and we see it if we truly believe in him. If all of this is true, why don’t we trust his plan? If he takes care of us, he is going to plan good things for us.
Working towards god
In life, there are many things that can lead us astray. There is sin all around us, and it can be hard to avoid it. We must work to avoid it at all costs. There is little more deadly than falling to the temptation of sin. The only thing that is more deadly is a lack of godly deeds. The bible says that without good works, faith is dead. We must learn to not only avoid sin, but to do good things with our lives. We must live for god, and fall for no others.

Quotes I love (well, I found them, and I liked them, so I put them here)
Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.
C. S. Lewis
I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
C. S. Lewis
I never knew how to worship until I knew how to love.
Henry Ward Beecher
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.
Albert Camus
(All you atheists, you like logic, think about that one!!!)
It is wonderful how much time good people spend fighting the devil. If they would only expend the same amount of energy loving their fellow men, the devil would die in his own tracks of ennui.
Helen Keller
Morality is of the highest importance - but for us, not for God.
Albert Einstein
No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what he means.
George Bernard Shaw
(It’s sad, but true)
He that cannot forgive others, breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass if he would reach heaven: for everyone has need to be forgiven.
Thomas Fuller
Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world
1 John 4:4

Guilt
Guilt can be considered, by some people, a bad feeling that they just want to get rid of. Others succumb to it and become near emotionless, sad vegetables, maybe worse. Others still learn the important lesson it offers us. It makes us remember our mistakes, and might keep us out of the same trouble in the future. It is something we must learn from, but keep it from leading our lives. If it is too strong, we lose and become sad. If it is too weak, we overcome it, and we end up being without regret for anything bad, and that makes us lose. In the end, we must find the middle ground.
Idols
We Americans make idols out of every person who can sing, play specific sports, is rich, or can act. They are all average people, they just have money, and use their talent from god. People like to delve into their personal lives, for some reason I don’t know, and think it is so interesting. Why can’t they do their jobs, go home, and have a life? People who win Peace Prizes get less American attention than most of our actors. Why, I will never know.

Is it Innocent?
“Oh, it’s just a little white lie,” that is the excuse for lying. We they say this to justify what they said, but this does not work. Any lie is a lie, no matter how small it is. Any lie can hurt, any lie is bad. Telling a lie is not the solution to any problem; it actually can make it worse, if you are found out. Think of this. In a court, many people who plead guilty get a reduced sentencing. It is always a risk to plead not guilty, because if you are found guilty anyways, you get the full sentence, and maybe even worse.
Exploring extended
We all have those temptations. We all want to be crazy and do whatever we want. Anything we want, anything that we have been told not to do. We can’t always learn from other's mistakes, and sometimes have to make our own. This causes us to grow, but it is still better that we avoid them. People often say that they do these things so they can learn, and it will make them better people. This is just an excuse to do them. It is true, you learn from mistakes if you try, but this is not what you think of while making the mistake, it is something for afterwards. It is obvious that you have not gotten the point of the saying if it is your reason to make mistakes. In the end, the best person is one who learns the same lesson from other people, and avoids their mistakes.
Think about it. If one never makes mistakes, they don’t have those things to haunt them. If a person used to party and party, and they quit, there has been irreparable damage done. Even after they quit, it will haunt them possibly throughout their whole lives. Say this happens: it is ten years later. The person is a successful politician, and they decide to run to be a senator. Any pictures of their party days will surface, and their rep will be ruined. Or, let’s say that a guy meats his college party buddy. He has stopped partying, and has a wife and kids. The only problem is that his friend hasn’t. He is still out there, partying every day. His friend convinces him to go out, to a local night club. They get drunk, and he ends up cheating on his wife with some woman. This will ruin his life, his wife’s life, and most defiantly affect the kids. All this happened because he partied in college.
Now, on the flip side, what about his friend? The poor guy hasn’t quit partying since he was twenty. He is drinking nightly, smoking, and possibly doing other drugs. He has absolutely no future. Once his partying days are over, he will have even less than what he has now. He is running himself deeper into debt, and ruining his body. He regrets it and wants to change, but the party life is just too fun. One night, he is drunk and taking some girl he doesn’t know home. He is flying down the road to impress her. CRASH! He runs head on into a car because he ran a red light. He is fine, but the driver of the other vehicle is killed upon crash. He is facing years in prison, and even once he is out he cannot get a good job because of his background. Now, does all of this sound worth a few years of partying?
